Vargas brothers just done 45psi, unsure if it was stock motor. Bent 1 of the through bolts,, twisted rotor housing, scraped rotor on block.

A clutch is as important on a micrometer as it is in a vehicle, that being said ive only seen the guts of a rotary 1 time at a tour of WyoTech in PA before they shut down😂

The Rotary has some issues from the factory that need to be addressed before throwing a Tokyo hair dryer on the engine. Like upgrading to the best possible seals you can afford. Trust me those expensive seals will save you so much money it's not even funny, but don't forget when buying them to use Honey. Also thank you for making this video and spending so much time just to help the community

The caliper should be tightened by the "clicky" small shaft. that way the tightening force is always consistent.

Not balancing rotor assembly may work on stock RX-7 with their low redline, but RX-8 goes up to 9k stock (actually higher) and can easily hit 10k if not careful. You have to balance and side clearance, and even combustion surface clearance at higher RPM so they don't slam into the side and rotor housing.

love your work man! rotaries while on the outside look simple (no cams, no valves no pistons), this shows the complexity that is on the inside! (making sure the rotar seals are inspec, compared to just buying a set of rings to fit a specific piston for piston engines!)

9:35 that's not how that works. a changeover from C to D means a new mold. the ones at the end of C would be heavy as the die wears out and more material fills in. late C would be heavy compared to early D...unless there were updates and revisions when the die was remade (I know nothing about these engines, just... that's how castings work.)

When measuring with a micrometer you should measure to the lightest touch you on the other hand cranked it to where it acted like a c-clamp.....😂😄

I’m a diesel piston guy and in a way things kind of cross over as far as sealing combustion within the area it needs to stay In . Shouldn’t you clearance the side seals as well so you account for the expansion from heat and boost pressure ? My logic tells me the seal will expand in length and then bow out a little bit and press into the iron and wear it out

i've never built a rotary engine before but i see that he tells us he misinstalled a turbo setup to not drain the oil from the turbo correctly and is calling that a limitation on the stock rotary engine. ghey af. pinging will kill basically anything stock or not.

If I ever get a massive amount of disposable income and I'm still single, I think it's my destiny to have a rotary-powered vehicle of some kind. Preferably an RX7. There's something very special about those cars and rotary engines in general.

Hey, Rob. Subscribing because Casey said good things about you in his most recent vid. I'm a brand new rotorhead. I've had this unicorn on my radar for about 2 years and finally pulled the trigger (check out that ODO! irpost.info/face/fy-lm-h-y/lJm2tKqxs5nei2o.html). I've been watching various rotary vids over that time and yours is the first I've seen showing how to do corner, side and oil seals. I'm not into doing crazy big power builds. I tend to be more or a preservationist but I might maybe someday Lord willing get another project rotary to build and restore.

All those studies i remember well were done by Rafael,from Rafaelito racing from Caguas Puerto Rico back in the early nineties,when his 13bs keep on twisting and breaking the rear plate right on the upper dowel pin,were he found out he needed get extra dowels pins to stop the problem,may be back then you weren't even born!

Couldn't help but notice you are using the micrometer incorrectly as you tighten it by the tip only as it has some give when the correct pressure is reached. irpost.info/face/fy-lm-h-y/lmLJzsDQyKSepGo.html You might have damaged it to where it needs to be re-calibrated already. Now we don't expect you to know everything as you are not a mechanic, not a machinist, and a whole lot of other nots, but we do expect you to respect our different trades and learn them. Your very smart and capable thus most of us can see this shouldn't be a challenged for you. Your like a real life "Pretender" that is capable of learning many different jobs all in one person. I'd like to get that damaged rotor and take some detailed measurements as I think it is trying to tell us something about how it actually wants to be turned.
